is there a certain amount of time leaking goes on... or does it happen until you stop breastfeeding?

I started leaking around 4 months pregnant and it kept on for a couple months after I had the baby and I never did breast feed. It was a lot more after I had the baby. I had to lay on bed pads at night because I would easily leak through breast pads in no time! It was extremely annoying!!!!

I found out from my cousin that they have a pill to make you dry up if you are not or no longer breast feeding. Just ask your doctor for it. I wish I had known about it before!

After about 6-8 weeks the leaking stops for most women. Some women always experience let down in both breasts when feeding, but this is rare, and as it is only during feedings it is easy to use a pad.

However if you go out somewhere and the baby is too distracted to eat you will likely leak again. I had to carry a pump and spare shirt if I went anywhere new.

No. You eventually stop leaking. I didn't leak for very long at all. And now I've been breastfeeding for about 13 months and I can't remember the last time I used a breast pad.

Depends on the circumstances. Some women leak the entire time. I did with my 1st and with my 3rd. Sometimes you won't except under extreme circumstances like high stress, being away from your baby too long, or just hearing a baby cry. I always opted for breastpads regardless because my bra would make my nipples get errect and I didn't want them poking out like headlights for all to see and the pads helped hid that and prevent unsightly leaks too.

It completely depends on your body. Most women have leaking for at least a few months but eventually it tapers off.

For me personally I leaked, especially during let downs, for about 2 months. Then after that my supply leveled off and my body knew how much to produce. However if I missed a feeding then yes, I would leak.

Good for you and breastfeeding! Congrats!

I always experience leaking, my daughter is four months. Sometimes it is less sometimes it is more. Usually I squirt out while she is feeding from the breast she isn't feeding on, other times my breasts feel warm and squirt, or I think about my daughter eating and I squirt. Also during the night I can fill my nursing pad, shirt, and then leak all over my bed, waking up all wet. I think it depends, everyone is different.
