Everyone in India has been disappointed over the fact that India couldn't go further toward the world cup. Some fans have quite literally gone crazy. The weird stuff they've done (burning effigies, derogatory posters, demeaning slogans, committing suicide, etc.) has been all over the news, even international news.
Its not that I don't care about India; I do, and i'd love to see India win the world cup. But does anyone think that the fans have gone too far? Yea, maybe our team sucks, and they don't play that well or they're slacking off.
Or maybe, they're trying their very best and are hoping that their fans will stick with them. Either way, cricket is just a game. Why are the fans being so insane? The fans from other countries don't act like this. This kind of behavior is making the world think that Indians are bad losers. Guys, am i the only person who thinks the fans went too far?

No you are not the only one that thinks that way,it is utterly stupid the way Indian fans have behaved. They have shamed their country and made Indians look bad though i am sure all Indians do not act like that.
It is great when your team wins but it isn't a life or death situation, players should be supported for just giving it a go

I agreed that some fans cross the bar. But remember, these are the same fans who put them in sky too after better performance. At that time no one says.. why are you doing this? If they again perform.. the same people will carry them on their shoulder. If you pat them well then you will have right to spank them too.It does not relate to hate but love.
Indian team had better ranking and are one of the favourites in WC2007. They lost the game without fighting. So that's one of the reason.Cricket in India is not a game only but a kind of religion. It is in the heart of every cricket lovers. BUt these cricketers do understand that? Winning and loosing is not important but Indian team just surrendered.

It's easy to say Don't make it a religion.. but It's happening in India since long time.. People will change but would take time.

call me cynical yet i've got self assurance there's an instantaneous correlation between the proportion of suits that India has been triumphing and the accuracy of the prediction of the Indian followers. consistent with probability if India have been dropping suits then their fan's predictions would not be as precise. Australian followers have been very precise of their predictions some years in the past as have been West Indian followers interior the Nineteen Eighties. English followers have not been very sturdy because Chris wide replaced into enjoying.

India has a disastrous cricket combination of underperforming players, over enthusiastic fans and power crazy selectors and administrators. They seem to act from the heart, not the head, and are least professional.
The team india is bad, the fans are even more bad, and the chief/ selectors/ administrators are the worst. The whole world is laughing at us.

Yeah I agree.
It's gotton a bit extreme. People act like they are the only ones affected by India's loss. It's absurd.
It's mostly those people who were betting uge amounts on India.
I was watching the news and they were talking about how people burnt Dhoni's house and claim to kill the cricketers and have burnt Rahul Dravids pictures n all... talk about going overboard!
I hope it calms down a bit... soon... before things get out of hand...

haha...too far? NOOOOOOOOO (<--being sarcastic)
Indians always go too far. Its in their nature. its a philosophy that is built into almost every Indian (not necessarily a bad thing!)
what indian ppl dont understand is, that IT IS JUST A GAME! so what if we lost, we dont have our braging rights this year, BIG DEAL. theres always next time.
The problem is, ppl get their hopes up too high before that event takes place, and when the result is not up to their expectations, they get pissed off and they over react. Therefore the result u see on the news...

Some people just take sports way too seriously. They act like it is a war of some sorts.

One should be happy when one's favorite team wins, but one should not go out and set cars on fire and riot when one's team loses. That's ridiculous.

I agree!!

Cricket is a game. Don't make it a religion.

It hurts to watch India lose so pathetically. It's waste of time & money. It totally kills the liking for our desi players. BUT IT'S A GAME. DON'T REACT SO DRASTICALLY AND FURIOUSLY UPON DEFEAT.

They always whinge and try to make excuses when the team loses. Look at the way they treated Greg Chappell, he's lucky to be alive after what happened to the Paki coach.

You are absolutely right. I fully agree with you. Such acts by fans will only help to tarnish the image of the country.
