What is your soul?
we know that everone has eletrical inpulses in our body, we can measure that. We know that energy cannot be destroyed but altered. So what happens to the energy in your body when you die?. Does the energy turn to light and leave? So when people take about near death experiances they always say they saw a bright lite and were pulled back.

Let's take the electricity concept raised by previous entries and go further. .

I agree that there is an energy force within the body that powers the system it is transmitted by and through our neural system . When we die that function stops. That is a given. If you have ever seen any creature die and I have been unfortunate to have seen this on several occasions ,there is an almost immediate shut down visible in the eyes. One moment they look alive, there is energy there ,at death that light literally goes out and this is readily apparent.when you see it.

What is not given is when and how does that process start.? It has to start to exist so when does that happen - at conception -or at sometime during the prenatal period. To have energy it must come from somewhere so where and how ? I don't know it just happens

It is no coincidence that another word for soul is "anima" ( like in animate) so to me that energy that runs us is our soul - with it there is life - without it there is no life. Does it continue after life - I don't know .

I believe if you are to talk about a soul in scientific terms, then there would be no such thing. I'm assuming the bright light would be related to the muscles in the eyes reactive negatively to the experience. Throwing your body into some sort of shock, and your eyes reacting by sending impulses to your eyes saying that the color you are seeing is white.

As for the energy, I'm such it doesn't leave the body in that such manner. I am assuming that it exits through decomposition. So as the body windles and decomposes, the energy goes into the air and the ground, sprouting new life, and causing that disgusting smell of death. I believe that in no way or form does the energy or the "soul" become light.
It's simple the reaction I told you of earlier.

It is simply our total being. Good ,evil, indifferent. I think it is a blank report card that gets filled out during your life. Probably even has sections that say "works well with others". Just remember, the Principal has to sign that thing before you can graduate to the " upper" grades. And everyone knows that school stuff stays on your PERMANENT RECORD.

(ok, it's a little sophomoric but that's how I would explain it to my kids when they were young.Hopefully my kids are on the Dean's list. I am hoping I didn't flunk)

That electrical energy is the result of the life processes. It is a manifestation of the conversation that the body has with its descrete parts. Where does a converstion go when it stops?
