My baby prefers to turn her head to one side when she sleeps, which has resulted in a flat spot. I have done the things that the pediatrician suggested, which include more tummy time when she's awake, propping her on her other side with a rolled towel or sleep positioner, and doing neck strengthening exercises daily. I wonder if letting her nap with her head on a pillow during the day would help? Of course I would be there keeping an eye on her. I've tried it and she really sleeps well when using a pillow. To me, it just seems more natural and would provide more cushioning. We use pillows as adults when we sleep. I know it is too dangerous to let her do this at night when we're not right there watching her, but has anyone tried this during the day? Do you think it has helped to reduce flattening? She refuses to nap on her tummy - I've tried that.
