I would like to buy my husband a watch. He doesn't like cloth/leather bands and would prefer one with links (which is just as well since it could be altered to be smaller) but I haven't seen any men's watches with links that can be altered to smaller than 7.5". Ideally it would be a reasonably priced (but not too cheap, either) steel/silver looking watch with an analog display. I'm open to women's and youths' watch models as long as they don't look childish or feminine. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Also, if you know of a specific model that has these features and also has a day/date display, that would be best. :)

bluefly.com is a good source for designer goods at a discount.

Here's a link to their current selection of men's watches:

I recommend the Coach rectangular styles. They seem to be the right scale & shape for your husband.

I think a rectangular watch is the way to go. Most men's round watches will be wide & make your husband's wrist look even smaller by contrast. A narrow rectangular shape will follow the contour of his wrist & add the illusion of bulk.

bluenile.com is another good source.

Here's a link to a Kenneth Cole that looks good: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=2948&track=product_search_txtlink&page=1&row=2&col=3&nav1=mens_watch_channel.asp&nav2=product%5Fsearch%2Easp%3Fproduct%5Fsearch%5Fscatid%3D150%26product%5Fsearch%5Fprid%3D1%26product%5Fsearch%5Fpage%3D0%26product%5Fsearch%5Ffilter%3D0%26product%5Fsearch%5Fsort%3D0

Fossil or Citizen watches are nice. My husband has both and he's pretty picky. Good luck!

i will say a MOVADO looks elegant and it goes really small kind of expensive tough, LUCIENNE PICCARD (i think that's correct) cheapest but still a fine watch goes really small too.
