No, this behavior is not bipolar...
you are mad and frustrated with your mom, but you still love and respect her. That seems pretty normal to me.
Bipolar is when you have severe mood swings due to a chemical imbalance in the brain.
It seems like you are under a lot of stress right now, and your mom has set a limit with you. She is treating you like an adult by insisting that you find another source for dealing with your issues. You might want to reconsider the counseling thing...
Counseling is for anyone who needs a little help dealing with their issues...it's not just for major mental illness that requires medication. It can be very freeing to vent your frustrations to someone who is truly objective.
Good Luck.

I believe that you could benefit from a very hard objective view of your decision making and emotional make up. I don't believe a mother can do that because her emotions play into your own. At college age you should be ready to make an emotional break from Mom, become mature and take responsibility for yourself. You need a temporary mentor to straighten you out. Get a good one, you deserve to go straight morally and emotionally. Your life will improve now and in the future. Respect yourself.

I don't feel that your behavior is bipolar.
Everyone has feelings of happiness and sadness once in a while. Feeling high and feeling low are part of life.
One day you may feel so depressed that you can't get out of bed. Work may seem impossible.
On another day you may feel great and full of endless energy. You may feel like you’re getting a lot done. But other people might think that what you are doing is dangerous and out of control.
Bipolar disorder is a lifelong condition. It can be hard for healthcare providers to diagnose. But it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Learning more about how to manage the condition can help.

Girls and their mothers are connected by an invisible umbilical cord that never quite gets cut. Of course you love your mother or you wouldn't turn to her for love or trust her to love you in return. Why not find someone else to confide in though for awhile. Your emotions might be tossed around and you need someone more willing and able to listen and empathize. I do Not think you are bi-polar and I have seen many. This question should be in Psychology where we could address it properly. Bi-polar is getting to be a psy. slang people use arbitrarily. You are just emotional and anxious. That can be helped. And you can do it. ( I would not lie to you.)

Well, I dont know if youre bipolar or not, i would need to know some other things you do. but, i know it is normal to love and defend your mom, and if you are having a tough time it may be smart to talk to an outside source, just to get another opinion and ideas about what may be going on! Plus, if you are having stress, they can give you mild meds to calm you.

You don't sound bi-polar, you sound like a normal late-teen-early-20's person trying to figure things out. The term bi-polar is thrown around way too much, and it 99% of the time incorrectly used to describe behavior that is unwanted by another person. I want to alternately smack and hug my mom too, but that's life.
