Yeah, I guess you ARE pissing some people off. Huh. I guess some of us Americans are a little on the sensitive side. Must be all the sunlight we have. :-)
I'm just kidding. Yeah, Canada is the best hockey country in the world. La-di-da. It is true. I am not sure why any of us would get mad about the truth. That said, they don't dominate the hockey world quite like they used to. Every year things get more and more even. It'll be a long time before we eclipse Canada, if ever, but compare the United States now to 10 or 20 or 30 years ago. Anything can happen in another 20.
In answer to your question, though, I root for the American team always. Doesn't matter how good they are. It is called loyalty. For all my complaints about America, I still love it. It is my home. To root for anything else, for me, would be just jumping on the bandwagon. So yeah, some years they may be pitiful, but what is it to me? It doesn't reflect on me, personally. Changing loyalties when my team struggles, however, probably would.
p.s. Thanks for Yzerman, Howe, Shanahan, and the numerous other Canadians that have starred for my home team. I really appreciate it. :-)

What is this aboot this time? I'm soary that you seem to have a problem with the US, but could you please stop your inane moaning at some point, its getting kinda annoying.
To answer your question, I cheer for the pitiful US team at the Olympics. And by "pitiful" I mean the third best team overall in Olympic history with 13 medals. #1 overall is of course Canada with 16 (9 gold)

Hey now, easy with the nationalism there, Captain Canada. Everyone knows that hockey is Canada's thing, but we can appreciate it too! Ignore the bandwagon-hopping redneck flag wavers who are too dumb to realize that the NHL is a multi-national sports league, probably more so than any other in North America. Let's all crack open a Labatt or two and just enjoy the game, eh?

Getting a little carried away here are we? This may be a strange concept to you but I care about my CITY (Los Angeles), my TEAM (the Kings) and most of all the SPORT. I understand most professionals were born in Canada. I DON'T CARE, I DON'T GET INTO THIS RIDICULOUS "NATIONALISM".
In the olympics I cheer for the U.S., but I don't throw a hissy fit if they don't win.
By the way, where did YOUR team finish in the last Olympics? Hint: not in first.

What are you talking about? If you are born in America, you play for America and the same for Canada. And I always root for the home team so I would cheer for the USA.

Canada, Canada - oh yea you're talking about that poor northern suburb of America aren't you? Well see, we have more important things to concern our lives with than Hockey. Yea it's fun to watch, but then the season is over and we move on while you guys are left with nothing to do but have a circle -jerk.
(hell you guys can't even get football right)
