this is not a question, but a rant. yes, all of us with tongue piercings know the risks involved. and we did it anyway. because we also know that the occurances of people who actually got gum disease from it is extremely low, and those people got it because they didn't bother to take care of it properly. most of us know that if we follow the aftercare instructions given to us and keep our teeth clean, we won't get gum disease. and we also know if we shorten our barbells or get acrylic balls and don't chew on the ring, we won't chip our teeth. we're not stupid.
i'm tired of people lecturing me on what a bad decision i've made. it's not a bad decision. i love my tongue ring. it's part of me and who i am. why the hell do you care if i get gum disease or chip a tooth anyway? it's my mouth, not yours.
