Just because Imus is old and had no idea what he was getting himself into.

I didn't think it was funny, but I also didn't really care about it and I am African American. The reason why I was not as outraged by it is because on other radio stations such as hot 97, ect. they always make diragotory jokes like that, but I guess noone makes a big deal out of it because everyone on the station is either African American or Hispanic. The bottom line is, if black people make these types of comment towards one another and think its ok, there is no need to get all up and outraged when a white man does it becuase in all actuality we do it to each other. I heard a girl crying on the radio station about Imus's comment but if someone said the same thing on one of these minority stations she probably would of just laughed it off and then been jamming to the DJ playing "walk it out" on the count down or some craziness like that.

First things first, the girls that Imus insulted were not the ones who cried "foul", it was the media,

Rutgers Uni and the womens basketball team only came out to talk about it after everyone made a hype. They are not suing him and the decision to take Imus off the stations is due to public consensus. Dont go blaming them for something that Imus caused in the first place.

I thought it was hilarious, and even funnier was how the broadcasters on FOX kept repeating it over and over and over, and they did it with that condescending smirk on their faces.

I think it's hilarious, actually, and if Americans can cheer Ann Coulter for calling Edwards a f*ggot and the 9/11 widows a bunch of money-grubbing witches, and if Americans can applaud Rush Limbaugh making fun of Michael J. Fox, then why not support Imus's right to free speech?

This thing is being blown so out of proportion by the media.

Rather than report on the explosion this morning in the Green Zone of Iraq, report on Imus using racial slurs!

I will admit that he was trying to be funny. A lot of people make mistakes and say the wrong thing, especially when they're trying to be funny.

When you call for him to be fired, first ask yourself if you've ever wished you could take something that you had said back.

If you don't like him, that's fine. But people say things in the heat of the moment every day. Everyone's joking around and next thing you know you just told everyone that your husband has a small penis, or your wife has a big butt - you still love your spouse, didn't mean to hurt them, but spoke before thinking it through. Should every person who has ever made an ill-timed or poorly executed joke about their spouse be divorced?

People need to get a sense of humor, or at least a sense of forgiveness.

No, Don Anus has never been very funny. He attempts to make shocking comments while his minions laugh hysterically.

On the other hand, Wanda Sykes made a rather funny comment on the situation last night on Leno. Leno asked her if she had been asked to comment on the Imus situation and she replied, "Yes, everybody's been calling me for a comment. What I want to know is when did I become the spokesperson for nappy-headed hos?"

It was funny in the sense that you just couldn't believe he said that, and like you said because he had no idea how this would all turn out... The actual saying "Nappy headed ho" wasn't so funny itself though.

No, because it isn't funny at all. Imus has never been funny and making ignorant racist comments isn't funny. I hope he gets fired
