has anybody ever been fishing with a child and he/she casts line into water and lets go of fishing pole

Not yet, but my boys kicked my butt when it came to fishing. They would always catch something, and I would go home with nothing.

My dad always gave us sticks with a line tied to them. I am now thinking he did that for a reason lol.

yes...but i went in after it. My Nephew would not stop crying... i mean hysterically...So i walked in the lake and got the pole!!! He is doing those things now with his kids!
