Liberals want to maintain their right to check out bomb making guides in the library in private, and also be able to CALL AFGHANISTAN without being monitored, but shout down, fire, and exile anyone who does not agree with their views.

The liberals only concern is maintaining power. They couldn't care less about rights or their hypocrisy.

Don Imus works at the discretion of a network and as such is bound by certain restrictions .
This is nothing new and back some years ago a famous sports announcer lost his presence of mind and shouted look at that monkey go .In reference to a black player during a football game .
Eventually the way you divide people in your head seeps out if given enough time .
Imus is prejudice certainly against women basketball players .
But an out right racist I am not so sure .

Freedom of speech has limitations as does the freedom to bear arms. We cannot allow people to run amok but they must have enough freedom to be able to challenge their leaders which keeps democracy strong and alive. Lack of ability to challenge leaders is great in a totalitarian regime but has no place in a democracy.

Imus' rights were not violated. He just went too far with them. It is like a gun owner who is not a collector that has an arsenal of 100 guns or has a bazooka. A few guns for target practice, defense of one's family and property, or for hunting is fine but too many guns or the wrong kind are pushing it too far. Without some sort of liberal limit there would be anarchy with too much control there would be dictatorship. We have a democracy and therefore something between anarchy and totalitarianism.

It doesnt make sense does it, and here Imus radoiothon raised 1Million in five hours today for charity, when did Sharpton or Jackson raise money for anyone but themselves, and the libs adore them. Imus made an error he apologized for it, Sharptton and Jackson make racial slurs and a living from doing so daily.

What right was violated? Freespeech prevents government interference , it does not mean you are immune from the consequences of idiotic statements. Imus is held to the same standards as everyone else in society. If I started throwing around racial comments, I would be fired too.

Imus has not lost a single right..

Too many Constitutional Scholars on here with no knowledge of the constitution.

The freedom of speech protects you from imprisonment and government censorship...not from others not liking your opinion.

Imus used his freedom of speech, rutgers and other offended individuals used theirs, you just used yours and I am now using mine.

The Protection does not mean you are protected from criticism or firign from your job...if your employer did not like what you did or said they can punish you.

If you work for Home Depot and tell customers to go to Lowes to get their supplies your employer can punish you for doing this...you used your freedom of speech but it is not valid against a private employer.

Imus is part of a fading generation of people that we can`t get off this planet any faster, the same people that suppressed poor people, young people, black people, women and gays today, and the baby boomers are just as selfish.

i dont think its a violation of someone rights to say hey you offended me. what i dont agree with is how big a story this has become. sometimes i think al sharpton and his cohorts just look for stuff to get pissed about but thats a whole other story. the thing is what that guy said could be considered offensive. after he apologized it should have been over then. but they want to run this into the ground like its the fa qing end of the world.
