Boy , this Imus thing has really back-fired on many of the Liberals . I've seen people change or alter their position left and right .
Jackson. . . .. .Should apologize or be banished from every network for the 'hymietown' comments and his accusations against the INNOCENT Duke Lacrosse players .
Sharpton. . . . . .Should be apologize or be fired for his numerous racist comments, his hoax in the Tawanna Brawley non-case, and his accusations against the INNOCENT Duke Lacrosse players .
And that's a fact, Jack !!

When Jesse Jackson was interviewed on TV News shortly after the Don Imus statement, he actually stated that when white men kill blacks they celebrate. How is that not racist and why wasn't there such a huge uproar about his two-faced remark? Al Sharpton is a racist too and has constantly stated that until the blacks get what they want, White people should be discriminatorily punished. Go back and review the tapes of the shows. Those weren't the exact words but basically the question was asked about equal treatement and Sharpton doesn't believe Whites deserve equal treatment. I just turn them off, just as I do all the offensive broadcasts.

So, Imus, an idiot who for years has offended everyone, is now in a pit of boiling tar for his stupid comment. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are grilling him and throwing a fit.
How come the two Rev's don't have the same distain for the Rap "artists"? This music is loaded with slurs, advocates violence upon women, celebrates drug use and criminal activity.
Wouldn't it seem that if the Rev's really cared about the community and wanted to end the inner city plight, they would go after the medium that has a wide audience and not worry about what a has been DJ is spewing?
Oh, and Al "I got Jewed by the numbers" Sharpton. What a joke they both are!

I have said this many times.
Why did they get away with it? Because of a double standard, and because of their fanatacism on behalf of their own causes.
The trick is to remember that the leader of a movement becomes identified with the movement. If the leader screws up, it's hard to deal fairly without unfairly destroying the movement. So the leader is granted a free spin, or three. I don't like it, either.
Jackson and Sharpton are irrelevancies now, and they know it. Remember the March of Dimes working toward a cure for polio? The cure came, and Dimes switched to birth defects, something that will always be with us. The job was done, and they couldn't face it. If these 2 men want to play cheerleader in their community, fine. They both claim MLK's mantle. But they are not Martin Luther King, in any sense.

Because they are black and the media is afraid of them. Its that old duel standard we have here. Hey, Look at the lyrics to these rap songs!!! Its OK to use the N word and much worse in a song, but when some one either is stupid or trying to be funny use it, and they are white, its a cardinal sin!!!
We as the silent majority need to speak up and speak out. I don't Listen to Imus and could care less if he is on the TV or radio, but this is America and yes, the first amendment does apply. If it applies to Fifty-cent, snoop dog or any of the other so called " musicians", why not Imus??

It is impossible to get Jesse Jackson to shut up. I would prefer him on the radio or T.V.--that way I can just tune him out. I don't want him in my home, so please let him and anyone else say whatever they want. I don't support him or Al Sharpton's victim attitude that teaches their supporters to pout and file suit till you get your way. Don Imus is a pouting mumbo-jumbo-er. I am quite certain that none of the Rutgers basketball players had ever even heard of him before and they should not care what this moron has to say anyway. I would have loved for some of those girls to just say "Who is Don Imus and why should I care what he said?" That girl would be elected president some day. Wearing your feelings on your sleaves is stupid.

Jessie Jackson is always demanding an apology from someone. If he were a decent man he would also call for Nifong and the alleged victim to apologize to the Duke students whose lives were ruined. I seriously doubt any of the girls on the Rutgers basketball team have suffered nearly as much as the Duke lacrosse players. Jackson is a hypocrite of the highest order.

If anybody disrespects anybody an apology is in order. But its not tit for tat. Imus isn’t up against AL, Jesse, and the NAACP. These are Black people he offended and who else is going to defend Black people except for Black leaders?
Any time a White man, or any other race, gets up in front of America and picks on Black people, America pats them on the back and down plays the situation. It just shows how racist White people really are inside, how they don’t they are oblivious, and don’t understand any other culture except there own.

Al Sharpton is not in basic terms racist, he's the biggest hypocrite on the radio. To call for that Imus ask for forgiveness to the basketball team (which he must have besides) yet to ignore the undeniable truth that he has been incorrect such truly some circumstances contained in the previous, for ex the Duke Lacrosse gamers, and in no way step as a lot as ask for forgiveness on his personal and no individual has even demanded it of him is the epitome of hypocrisy.

Personally, I don't want to see anyone banned. Unfortunately, as you pointed out, racists come in all colors, but white racism gets all the publicity, supposedly because they don't know what it's like to be "victims" while the black racists do. It's BS, I know, but that's the way it is nevertheless. I think it's a shame someone isn't stating the blatantly obvious: The price we pay for freedom of speech is that we're going to hear things we don't like once in awhile!
