This is really a rhetorical question. Democratic politicians pander to a constituancy which believes, increasingly, that they are victims and they are powerless against the evil Republicans, corporations, capitalists, conservatives, neo-conservatives, religious right, George W. Bush, National Rifle Association, Catholic Church, Big Oil, Big Pharmacuticals, Walmart, etc. I'm sure you can add to the list. Everything is a Republican conspiracy. Everything is a crisis. The world is going to end tomorrow. And, it's inconceiveable that a Democrat could lose an election. So, if they do lose, the election was fixed by the evil Republicans.
If you vote to keep the Democrats in power, they will protect you because you are not capable of helping yourself.

Yes, we know what we want. We want a Democratic President. Some of us -- like ME, think that Hillary Clinton has a better chance of defeating McCain than Obama. But, (some of) the radical followers of Obama are fighting it. They've gotten all carried away with CHANGE and neglected to "work out" that Obama cannot defeat McCain. Just cannot do it. Just count the votes -- just count the votes. In the last several elections, I always thought that this delegate business was standing in the way of the popular vote. Just let people vote. I have nothing against Obama except his lack of experience. The Clintons have made mistakes, but I think they've made their quota of them, and I think they have learned. I want experience in Washington; I want a Democrat. Just count the votes. Count the votes.

Speaking of tunnel vision?
I helped out with a voting poll station in a Red County and ppl there were concerned too because of problems with the equipment and some elderly had difficulty understanding some of the ambiguous phrasing of some of the selections.
And I know those ppl were voting Red.
What about our military votes that weren't even counted initially during the last presidential election? Although those votes did not affect the outcome, its worse than crass to have our fighting men and women's votes publically cast aside with such disrespect.
What do you have to say for all the REPUBLICANS that were shouting the 'insignificance' of those military votes at the top of their lungs? Answer that, please.

No harm, no foul. I think we've all been in situations where we came out ahead as a result of an unfair situation. But most of us just bite our lip and appreciate that the situation wasn't reversed.
I think any voting system should have open source code, and should be independently verifiable at a moments notice. We have a commission to regulate weights and measures but not one to regulate voting equipment? Absurd.

Then again many of the US Attorneys in the recent AG flap were accused by the White House of not being aggressive enough in investigating supposed Dem voter fraud.
Why do Cons blithely deny even the possibility of voter fraud when they win an election (labelling the complainants as "loony", etc.) then get all huffy and hysterical about the same issue when they lose? Why? Can you say hypocritical scum?

well, when the machines register more votes for GWB from a district than there are voters then something's amiss. The machines were never broken they didn't need to be "magically fixed" they just needed to be left alone without anyone frigging with them.

LOL. I ask this question all of the time.
Its almost as funny as when the machines "do break", but only in certain regions that the Democrats have cherry-picked for a recount.
