As an American I do you think to appreciate our troops fighting overseas so we all can maintain our democracy ?
Thank you troops, for fighting overseas for our democracy. Bringing you home safely from an illegal war and now a civil war,,,is the goal.

First off, we are not a "Democracy." When you say the Pledge of Allegiance do you use the word, "Democracy" or do you use the words "And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands?"
There is not any way there can be "Victory" in Iraq. I support our troops..Cr*p, once upon a time I was IN the military myself. But the truth is that we are in the middle of a civil war. Unless you are wanting to gain another colony we shouldn't even be there right now. As far as Alqaida goes, if they were that important don't you think we would have stayed in Afghanistan where they were?
All smoke and screens for the REAL reason we are there.

First of all, we do not have a Democracy, we have a Republic. A Democracy is when 50% of the People rule 49% of the people.
A Republic is where 99% rule 1% of the people
Of course we appreciate our Troops, that is why they should get out of that civil war and come home. George Bush already talked about a 100 year war....if we can not identify the enemy, how can we get Victory, even in 100 years?? We are losing our children over some body's wild idea of world and oil dominance. Is that what we want??? NOT!!!!!

What makes you think that our troops fighting overseas has anything to do with maintaining OUR democracy?
Democracy has been supplanted in the US by Political Action Committees, corporate lobbying, pork politics, the expansion of the Executive Branch. Who is protecting us from the threats to democracy within out own nation?

That's fine if there were a draft and Americans were sacrificing as a whole, including those holding office. Instead, we allow a small volunteer group to be put in harm's way for an unjust war in Iraq that supports the agendas of certain corporations and their supporters holding political office.
I appreciate our troops. However, the only just war right now is in Afghanistan. We should have finished what we started there, and not wasted our time in Iraq in the first place.

It is inappropriate if not bizarre, selfish and self-defeating to say that for the sake of saving democracy at home we need our troops to fight overseas! Democracy without causing bloodshed is true democracy, but where can we find it?

by fact that's the place the terrorist cells are allowed to sort and develop. countries with economies that are disconnected from the the remainder of the worldwide like Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan are appropriate places for those form of pastime to be allowed. a answer is to work together those countries into globalization, by tension if necessary, to sell stability and risk-free practices in the area. until eventually that takes place, if we did no longer have troops distant places scuffling with for our freedom, we could be protecting greater memorials and cleansing up greater 9/11 messes.

Being a vet, I'm always mindful of the sacrifices of our troops and am grateful for their service. I just don't always agree with how they're used or led.
