It starts when we are children and we do something wrong.
Our parents are quick to discipline us, letting us feel the consequences of our actions but if it involves anyone outside of the family, we are usually told "It's ok." No it's not!
When my son pushes your child or throws his ball at you, drives his shopping buggy into your legs, IT IS NOT OK!!! I'd much rather you soy "OUCH! That hurt", or "Please watch what you are doing", "Do not hit Chris, talk to him or come get me or your mom to help you work it out".....anything but "It's ok".

I often get "looks" from other parents when I tell their kids not to do something - such as "don't grab, ask for the shovel" or "don't kick the stroller". I've learned that if I don't say it, they won't!!

I try to set an example for my kids and accept responsibility for my actions and apologise for what I do wrong instead of just brushing it off.

Why are people so afraid to discipline their kids?!
No wonder we have so many selfish people out there, with no sense of responsibilty and an overblown sense of entitlement!!

Thanks for allowing me to rant!!

As for any other group - It's much easier and honest to say "OOps, we goofed but here's what we are going to do to rectify the situation....." But, why take the direct route, when they can keep running in circles trying to cover up all the excuses and alienate those their excuses are supposed to attract...business? Makes no sense.

Okay, let me ask you. What have you done lately to ensure that you have taken responsibility for solving a problem or fixing what's broken? Have you written letters to your elected officials? Have you offered acceptable solutions (acceptable to you) to problems that need solving? Have you voted? If you haven't done any of these things, you've got the answer to your own question.

Many people have no sense of personal responsibility and no values. It is largely due to all of the government handouts which give them a sense of being entitled to something.
