Why do people start to feel superior because of their skin color or the racial category they fit in. Instead of looking at their own individual life, family, skill etc

All I know is that it's demonstrated all throughout the history books and some people are dumb and egotistical enough not to have learned from those past mistakes.

People who are satisfied with their lives and secure in their own skin don't have superiority complexes.... they have no need. It's the people who are unhappy with their lot in life who look for someone else to blame for their own misery. When this misery is self inflicted, much finger pointing and blaming begins. This is not confined to just one race or skin color. It crosses all lines .

I think every race feels a certain pride. I know I do, I also know you do. When someone insults our race, they in turn insult us to a certain degree. Ignorant people delight in insults. I do my best not to be sucked into the fight. Most of the time I'm successful, but I am only human. We can only do the best we can. I love my life and my family, and others opinions of my race do not effect who I am.

It the easiest way to feel 'good' about yourself. There's no responsibility or work involved and it's something someone can say about themselves and feel 'proud' of without having to put in any effort. For example, someone may be a total f**k up, lying alcoholic, drug using jerk who's ugly and unemployed and likes to beat people up but they may say, "Hey!! I'm white!! Yeah! woohoo! At least I'm 'better' than all those 'non-whites'!" I always think a lot of it is out of desperation to feel that they are 'worth' something when everything else about them is crap.

I've never understood this. I also get tired of having to fit in a certain racial category: I am human. We all are human.
