Ok, folks. Help me out here. Why would those young ladies give a damn about what Don Imus said? Why has this become the media storm that it has. I will bet you that most of those girls probably didn't even know who he was before all of this. I don't get it. An old man said something that he thought was hip and funny. The nation explodes. WOW

I think your question hits the nail on the head. Don Imus has been vomiting his hate-filled rhetoric since the early-mid 70's and all of a sudden now, NOW he's gone too far?

I can't answer why these young athletes would give a damn from their point of view but if I had to guess it'd probably have something to do with being called "hos" on a nationally syndicated TV & radio show. I don't claim to be an expert on the black collegiate female basketball culture but if you compare it to having Don Imus refer to a UCLA white sorority as a group of "plasticized cu_ts" as opposed calling the best female collegiate basketball team in the nation "...nappy headed hos" you can imagine that Bambi, Candi, Mandi, and Heather would have their lawyer daddies on MSNBC's case quicker than a brand new Lexus depreciates after you drive it off the dealer's lot.

Here's the bottom line on Imus. He's old, he's miserable, he hates EVERYBODY. If people don't like the venom he spouts...here it goes...don't flippin' listen to his show! Turn the dial! Turn the TV off! Make him feel your discontent as his sponsors begin to drop him one by one because YOU'RE not listening.

You got it right . This is one of Al Sharpen and Jessie Jackson game, They got what they wanted..their names and faces on the tv and news.Everyone should boycott nbc , I heard a talk host show yesterday and a caller call in and ask a racist question the news host replied I wouldn't reply to that question because I'm afraid someone might think that is a racist answer. Why don't people get upset with what going on at Walter reed? Are they just limited to an old man that made a comment that was just bad judgment. And can anyone tell me if Al or Jessie every went to Walter Reed hospital or are they to busy watching out for white folks giving their opinion that may not agree with them. Who gave them the racist police badge...George Bush.

The women he insulted are college basketball players at an ivy league college. I have always believed if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Whether it is a liberal or conservative making statements like this-it is wrong. These young women are minding their own business of getting an education and playing on one of the best womens college basketball teams in the US. They shouldn't be insulted by anyone. They should be congratulated for their accomplishments.

I totally agree with you....If Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would just mind there own business this would of never gotten so out of hand...I think those girls should just grow a backbone and throw a few words back at him and just forget about it...But to actually hear them say they are damaged for life from this is PATHETIC...

so a ways as i'm worried this become no longer a racial subject. there have been white ladies on that team to and he become touching on the whole team no longer merely one. i think of it rather is a load of crap that they fired him for that!! yet yet this is okay for human beings like al sharpton and jesse jackson to get on television and talk approximately how undesirable black human beings have it and that isn't racist?! enable me wager, it rather is frequently the white mans fault and it continuously would be, suitable? even if! Has no person else taken a step back and regarded at society presently? there remains segregation, and no, this is not the whites doing it this time. look at each and all of the "black" faculties and the "black" church homes. u.s. desires to get a grip and end strolling on egg shells for a undeniable race!!

I THINK THE BIGGEST DEAL ABOUT IT IS THAT IT WAS SAID ON NATIONAL TV AND JESSIE JACKSON AND AL SHARPTON GOT WIND OF IT AND WELL, YOU KNOW THE REST! IF HE'D SAID IT IN A BAR OR SOME PLACE LIKE THAT, WHO WOULD HAVE CARED, UNLESS JESSIE ANS AL WAS HAVING A DRINK THERE!

Its a simple example of the ultra liberal media beating a dead horse until the liberal agenda is realized. I blame the media and then Sharpton and Jackson.
