I had started my period a few days ago and tylenol is not working....it hides the pain and as soon as the medicine wears off, its comes right back?

It's quite common. Applying heat directly to the low back helps a lot. You can use a heating pad or one of those self adhesive patches (they work GREAT, but they are expensive). Anecdotal evidence (people's experience, not research-based) shows that magnetic devices are helpful in managing this type of pain also.

Ibuprofin (Motrin, Advil) has an anti-prostaglandin action that makes it more effective than acetominophen (Tyenol) for this type of pain.

VERY normal!!!! Tylenol never worked for me. Advil always was better. Advil is usually 200mg per tablet so you can take 3 of them instead of just 2.. works better! Sometimes if my cramps are really bad I will take 4 the first time around then continue with 3 over 5-6 hours after that. You can also try putting a heating pad over your tummy/lower back and that might help with some of the pain!

That's just cramps and yes it is normal. Try some Advil instead of Tylenol, most people swear that it's better. Two of those green gel caps do a great job for me. The pain will come back when they wear off but meanwhile enjoy your life.

yes. normal. and it is normal to have to keep taking pain relievers for it every 4-6 hours. advil/ibuprofen works better than tylenol. good luck you only have about 40-50 more years of this!

Yes, it is. Try using and NSAID like Advil or Aleve. It's an anti-inflammatory and will work more specifically on your muscle aches due to your period.
