Tracking web traffic?

I have a website and I have been tracking it's traffic for some time now. But I get some likes like www.forum.com/pagename.php - When I click it does not show me what the page was. Is there a way for me to generate spesific links to give out to people and to use in different places so i know exactly where my traffic is coming from?

xeo_2004 I understand that, put I would like to know exact pages- so for example if I post a url 10 times in the same forim. I would like to be able to see which pages are refering the most. for example maybe there is a tracking program that will give me urls like www.mysite.com/8923
www.mysite.com/1223
www.mysite.com/9576
www.mysite.com/9332

this way i know where i put what link

your web tracker does not include the query string of the url referer:

example: your refer page should be like

www.forum.com/pagename.php?varialble=x

where your tracker only gets

www.forum.com/pagename.php

not including ?varialble=x or whatever...

but atlest you know what website is refering but not the specific page though.

I use Google Analytics.

By installing a simple script that G Analytics will provide,

a) You can monitor the traffic to your website including Geo Locations, Referring Sources, Marketing Optimization, Entry Page, Exit Page etc.

b) You can create upto 4 Conversion Goals and Funnels for each site and measure your Conversion factors such as Traffic vs Newsletter Signup vs Sale

A tracker will always be somewhat deceptive because, it cannot be trustworthy in either (1) telling whether the person links to your second page and returns to your first page or (2) links out of your website and links back in or (3) links out of your website and hits "back"...how do you want to count all these? Are they equally important? And how about your *own* hits, as for testing? Or "crawler" hits, as for site indexing?
