OK, my Mom has told me that I can't wear "daisy dukes" but I have a friend who has some that fit me and I am going some place where she knows people and I really want to borrow them.

Mommy, can I have permission to sneak around and do something that you told me I couldn't do?

You have to make a decision about whether or not you will respect your mother's wishes. If you choose to respect them, you will not borrow your friend's Daisy Dukes.
If you choose not to respect them, then you will go against the wishes of your mother.

There's no reason to ask permission, you already know the answer will be no.

Go for it. If you know she is not going to be there, she likely won't find out. Also, I doubt this is something that would come up in the normal course of a conversation with your Mom's friends, so if they saw you wearing them, they would probably just think that's what you normally wear.

First off, if your mother says not to wear them, why are you even considering wearing them? Also, stop and think what kind of impression you want to make with the people you are going to meet. How do you want to come across to them? First impressions mean a lot. If you want to come across as a s__t or someone asking for it, wear them and don't listen to your mother. Don't whine if you get in trouble by wearing them.

I say no. They are not too appropriate and if your Mom knows someone that is going to be where you would wear them you will most definitely get squealed on. Why risk that over a pair of short shorts?

I would ask if I were you, what if she comes around where you are going to be and you get caught in them. That wouldn't be good or even if someone your mom knows sees you then what? You could always try them on for your mom and let her see how you look in them.

I agree with what "Sweet" said
"don't wear them. they make you look trashy and like you are trying too hard"

Besides... when you wear those you're asking for the wrong kind of attention. Your mom really does know what is best for you. You just won't understand until you're older.

No, they are not appropriate unless you are going swimming. They don't cover any more then your average swim suit does. Would you wear your swimsuit for every day wear? Your Mom is right! Listen and respect her opinion, it is in your best interest.

You should listen to Mom. You could be asking for trouble by dressing too provocatively.
Definitely ask permission.

ah yes... teens vs. parents.. I remember those fond memories. seems like ohh.... maybe 16 years ago

sorry.. Umm best advise I can give (cus I know you're not gonna listen to your mom) is that sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

You don't need to ask permission. You already know that you aren't allowed to wear them. If you choose to wear them, you will be disobeying your mom.
