2 (Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) are still living.
John Lennon was shot to death and George Harrison died of cancer.

While the Beatles were known in their heyday as "The Fab Four," fans know there were actually six members in the band, and one temporary replacement.
Three former Beatles are still alive-- Paul McCartney (bass, piano & vocals), Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) (drums & vocals), and Pete Best (drums). Starr replaced Best in August, 1962.
Three are dead-- John Lennon (guitar & vocals) was assasinated in December 1981. George Harrison (guitar & vocals) died of cancer in November, 2001. Stu Suttcliff (guitar) died of a brain hemorrhage in April, 1962.
All six can be heard on various tracks on the Beatles album "Anthology I."
Ringo's temporary replacement as drummer due to illness, was Jimmy Nichol. Jimmy's first show with The Beatles took place on 4 June 1964 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He played nine more shows, until Starr returned to the group in Melbourne, Australia, on 14 June. A recluse today, Nichol is reported to be alive and living in London.

John was shot by John Chapman. (just a foot to the left, and Chapman would be a hero)
George died of cancer.

well john lennon got shot while walking out of his apartment. and i know paul mccartney is still living. not sure about the others tho...
