OK, the Duke Lacrosse players were cleared of all charges today, but one issue still stands. Shouldn't the strippers wages be garnished for the rest of her life to pay even a fraction of these legal fees?
It was her fault that this whole ordeal happened. Sure, the players were idiots in the first place, but NOTHING excused her behavior. Shouldn't we make an example out of her, and teach women that falsely crying "rape" will NOT be tolerated?
Or will we let this farce continue, even though we see how much harm it can cause?
I am NOT advocating rape in any way, and I personally think rapists should be locked up for life. However, I also think that she should be arrested, and put in jail for at least a year. Her wages should also be garnished, for life.
She ruined these three men's lives, so hers should be ruined also.
Agreed?

The stripper will not pay anything because it was a criminal prosecution and thus handled by the DA office with tax money. The Duke players did not have to hire hot-shot defense attorneys but chose to do so and thus will have to pay the cost of their defense. Sadly, the only reason this case received so much attention is because the Duke players were are affluent and white with the resources to hire top-notch attorneys. This type of prosecutor abuse happens all the time and nobody notices. Furthermore, the Duke players have not had their lives ruined. While this has been an ugly episode in their life, it is now over and in a few years nobody will remeber who they are.

No...are you one hundred percent sure that she was lieing?
Sometimes people are bad witnesses or unintelligable and appear to be lieing when they are not.
Did you know that less than 33% of rapists are convicted? Are you actually saying that in any rape case when the charges are dropped or the man is found not guilty the woman/victim should be sued or penalized? Then we would never have another rape conviction again.
By the way...your argument means that Kobe's accuser should be punished, the LAPD should be punished for charging OJ...and Michael Jackson's accuser should be punished....We all know for instance that most likely OJ was guilty do you really want a guilty person to be paid...just because he had a good lawyer and the DA was over his head? No way.

The Duke players could initiate a civil lawsuit against her for damages for malicious prosecution, defamation of character and a whole bunch of different causes of action.
However, since the case was brought by the DA as a criminal charge, they could possibly charge her with obstruction of justice.
While our justice system isn't perfect, when it works the way it was designed, the stripper will get what's coming to her one way or another.
And Nifong is being brought up on charges for withholding evidence and is facing fines, jail and possible disbarrment.
So assuming he did what he's being charged with, he is getting what's coming to him.

Ok, so now that the Duke Lacrosse players have been cleared and it is clear That the “Exotic Dancer” lied, will the good Reverend Jessie Jackson and Reverend Al Sharpton go into the streets of Durham tomorrow and protest? Will they DEMAND justice for these boys and hold the city hostage with threats of violence until that woman is brought up on serious charges? Will the Rev. Jessie “Hymie Town” Jackson and the Rev. Al “I got Jewed out of my numbers” Sharpton reveal that they are really just poverty pimps sucking the money out of their own people? Will they admit that they are just using the “race card” to line their own pockets and to keep the black community down for their own benefit?
And for you to young to remember those racial quotes and many, many more by these two “Reverends”, just know that they need to keep racial tension alive to keep their bank accounts full!

She should be imprisoned for false accusation, which is a crime. She has no money, so suing her would gain nothing.
They should sue Nifong for prosecutorial misconduct and abuse of power. He should also be charged with criminal action and sent to prison.
Duke overreacted, but they are not the reason for the legal fees incurred by the young men. They did not act in malice. They do, however, owe them an apology, and any restitution they are liable for (lost scholarships, lost tuition, etc).

The students have started dancing in night clubs to hordes of women. Lacrosse players gone wild is in production, and also, they will be featured in that. Make that lying piece of garbage pay them restitution. Get her to pay them so much a month. Plus nifong should pay them too. Nifong and the piece of lying trash should pay them back every penny plus interest for putting them through hell the last year.

The DA is being prosectued as well as going before the NC bar association. And eventually, everybody's going to be sued. The college, the state, the stripper...but realistically, they not going to go after the stripper too much, as her pockets aren't that deep. They will most likely go after the state, that has nice deeps pockets to take from.

If we changed our laws so loser's pay then she would. Until then, the lacrosse players will have to consider spending more money to sue her and the DA

The woman who brought these charges will never be able to pay for this farce.
The parties who took the accusations and ran with them are the ones most at fault. They failed to do their due diligence.
Her life is ruined. It was ruined from the second she had to make such a choice to be a party dancer to pay her way through life. She now has no future. Her punishment is already carried out.
