Just wondering. some of my friends r obsessed. they wonder why i don't get into it. i think 6 years [[or however long it is]] is a little much. same old judges. same old voices. then when someone finally wins, they become a one-hit wonder and we all wonder where they go. i would like to hear ur opinions about it plz.

well really I don't think they are all one-hit wanders...
Carrie Underwood... certainly not a one-hit wander
Kelly Clarkston... certainly not a one-hit wander....
Jennifer Hudson.... though she did not win.... certainly is not a one hit wander
Taylor Hicks... he already was in the music industry... already had CD's .... certainly not a one hit wander
Chis Daughtry.... already gone platium... certainly not a one hit wander...
So maybe you should do some research before you give such a general statement about Idol contestants and winners!

American Idol is, sometimes, alright to watch it. This is the first season I've actually watched it. I'm not majorly into it like some people. But, not all of the winners are one hit wonders. Kelly, Carrie and although Chris Daughtry didn't win, he's doin pretty good for himself. I think some people lucked out by winning and others got a very big break!

Yeah i do. There's something called X Factor over here in the UK and it's very similar to american idol, only they've recently changed the host and some of the judges. It gets boring after a while.

I think this season is getting to be a joke!! But the past season really havent been!! And one hit wonder?? I dont know how much you pay attention but Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarckson even Chris Daughtry who didnt even win are def not one hot wonders!! And what about Jennifer Hudson, she didnt win either but look where American Idol got her!!

Lauren or Scotty will win.... Lauren to me isn't that enormous, yet, to be honest she has develop into alot better mature in her vocal decision in the previous few weeks, and scotty, he's giant, he hasn't rather had a nasty week, yet, i like james, regrettably, he's focusing better on making the performance incredible instead of his vocals....Jacob, gained't win because he's, boring, and he has lost vocal skill considering the fact that we first said him in the starting up.... Haley will make it a strategies, yet she probably gained't win... yet you never comprehend because her performance very last nighttime (the finest performance) became rather sturdy.

I personally never started watching IDOL until this year and I'm so dissappointed!! If they discontinue it after this season my feelings won't be hurt!! The only thing I ask is that they make a DVD with all the horrible auditions from the beginning!! Those bad auditions are funny!!

Ya I agree I wosn' t going to watch this year but that shows how much I know haha I think they should stop after this year I think its getting real old real fast haha :-)

I never liked it from the begining. I like to watch and listen to artists who writes their own music and sings it from the heart. I don't like the idea of listening to teenie boppers sing someone elses work and not do it as well.
