I kind of doubt it. MLK promoted the EQUALITY of the races through nonviolent means. Al Sharpton is mainly a racist attention hog and a rabid self promoter who uses racial issues to keep himself in the limelight.

Why would he? Al Sharpton promotes racism by bringing every little affront he can find into a public issue. Martin Luther King wanted to stop racism and wanted equality. He would not support the double standard that Al Sharpton is so intent on getting made into the standard

I would hope not. MLK did a great deal of great work for all americans, in the area of civil rights.

I believe that he would agree with that statement because he stated many times that america was one nation and all citizens should be treated the same.

In other words, he worked for unity of america.

Sharpton doesn't work for unity, quite the opposite as his celebrity would go away if unity were achieved.

He is a racist at the other end of the pendulum and I think MLK would find him as objectionable as he would a white racist in Mississippi in the '60s.

Absolutely not. Dr. King was a man who did literally have a vision. He saw all people as equal, regardless of color, culture or creed. And as an aside, if anyone ever reads his writings, he had a very low opinion of Jesse Jackson. He considered him an opportunist who was only interested in power for Jesse Jackson.

Probably. MLK was against racism. He fought for civil rights , but he definitely was against racism. No matter how it is sugar coated, what Imus said was a racist statement. Even if he didn't mean it.

and he has said he didn't mean it and has apologized. It is time everyone moves on.
