Oh my god, you are so a true man!! I wish i was that girl, but then again i too have had alot of previous bad relationships where when i first met the guy he was sweet and all but then turned into a total jerk and for some reason i stuck around. But once i came to my senses i left, I'm sure that once she realizes how much you really mean to her she will grow up and take a chance with you. Nothing is wrong with you, she is just stuck in a loop and has to understand on her own how to get out and find out what is best for her and if you really love her you will give her that time to realize it but at the same time, your only human. Thats a toughy. Best of luck to you both.

Sometimes when women are mistreated it is hard for them to accept the good love. You are afraid you will turn out like some people say you will. It isn't that she wants to be this way, you get conditioned by how someone has treated you and when you have a good relationship it makes you wonder why they are being so good to you. Plus I think some women are just waiting for the fall, when it will turn around and the person they are with will treat them the same as prior exs have. Keep treating her the way she deserves too. One day she will come around and realize this is the way a relationship should be.

When a women has been abused, normally that's how we feel, remember, it depends on how long she was in the relationship all so,all she needs is for you to give her a lot of confidence , letting her make her own decisions and to stand by her when she does. Give her courage, to do something she hasn't done and what she would love to do ( better education, change her image, go shopping with or with out you, remember, give her confident ) to improve her life. If you really love her, then you wont feel hurt, and she will not either
I know, I was once in a relation ship that cost me almost my life. Now I have been married to my husband for 31 yr. and during those years, I became a Social Worker He ask me one day, what would you like to achieve, I said help others, it was his idea, and I never felt better.
Good Luck

Love itself does not hurt, but it takes some "pain" to grow & mature. Like achieving any personal goal like losing weight, quitting alcohol, obtaining Masters degree... there will be what I call "growing pains" which may feel horrible while you are in it. But in the long run those hurts can make you a better person. It's all how you look at it: Glass half full or half empty.

she could be damaged from a previous relationship, but she could also just not feel as strongly about you. you seem to treat her extremely well and have a ton of respect for her...don't you want someone who feels the same way abot you? you can't force anyone to do anything....just be yourself and however things pan out is how it was meant to be.

she's in an abuse cycle that probably started when she was little. she doesn't see herself as worthy of being loved fully and completely. not much you can do, this is a deep seated issue that probably needs to be resolved with therapy.

Love will hurt once you lose to the battle...
Love will hurt once you realise that the amount you have invested has not be reciprocated.
