Hmmm, you don't have much time - some piccies in an album is a great idea. How about some love notes, just little ones, that you can hide in some of his clothing, and other stuff in his luggage? He will get a surprise when he comes across each one? Can you bear to cut a small piece of your hair and tie a pretty ribbon around it and give it to him in a small box? Do you have a favourite and special song that means something to the two of you that you can burn to a disc for him to listen to while he's away? Good luck, I hope all goes well for both of you.

When my husband was deployed last year, he had me spray some perfume on a hankerchief so he could remember my smell. I know how you feel going through this, just stay busy. When my husband left, our daughter was 5 weeks old so of course I stayed busy. I hope he's not army cause their deployments are now 15 months. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Email me if you ever need to talk because tomorrow will be heartbreaking for you.

Make him a cd of favorite songs you both have. Take a small item of clothing of yours underwear if you want to go that way, or a scrunchy something that will soak up your perfume and spray it like crazy with your perfume, and put it in a small sandwhich bag, or something that will hold the smell of the perfume for awhile.

The best thing you can do for him is write offen. Everyday if possible and BE LOYAL AND FAITHFUL while he is gone. I spent six years in the army and can tell you first hand that about 70 % of the married women on base cheat while there husbands are deployed. You may think that 70% sounds high but it is true. Please don't be one of these low down bit ches and stay true to your man! The last thing he needs while over there is to have to worry about his wife cheating. Those kind of stray thought have gotten many guys killed.

How about a memory jar (or a journal since he might not want to deploy with a glass jar)? In a memory jar, you take scraps of paper and write happy memories or messages on each paper and fold them up and put them in the jar. Then, when he's feeling down or lonely, he can pull one out and read it. It will make him feel closer to you.
You could also call other people and get messages from them to him, such as happy memories OR how they feel about him bravely deploying!!!
Good luck to you and please hug your soldier for me in appreciation of what he is doing. I wish him a safe journey and safe, QUICK return!!! :)

What about a small pillow that he can sleep with ever night? It may bring him comfort and remind him of you. You could try to make it out of an old shirt of yours. Spray it with your scent. It will give him good memories.

That is a great start. Snacks for the long plane ride. Try not to make it too big...that is more to carry. While he is away send him letters, love notes, pictures and care packages with his favorite snacks, movies, TV shows etc. He will love you for it.

The album was a great idea. You can include an "I am so proud of you and I love you so much" note if you want.
God bless your hubby for serving his country.

my hubby is leaving soon to and I wrote him a letter telling him how much I am going to miss him, love him. I put it secretly in his bag with all his toiletries. When he finds it it will put a smile on his face.
