Both.. sometimes you really need it 2 hold ur jeans or pants up.. and sometimes it just matches your outfit. For guys... in their cases it is FUNCTIONAL.

I used to be into belts in the 80s (the big studded ones! LOL!), but now it is just functional to me. I know they are making a big fashion come back with the ladies again, but I just can't get into it this time around.

Belt is just functional for me , it's an item I don't consider much when I dress .

Most of the time, i only use belts to look more fashionable because i don't really buy bottoms that are too big for me so i don't exactly use it for that (but sometimes i really do need one. hehe)

To me it is fashionable. To my husband, a former Marine, it is functional and he cannot leave the house without one.
