You know I was gonna give a smart aleck answer, but I do believe regardless of what is happening in space, five seconds is five seconds on earth...aren't we both smart and cute....= )

Ahhhh...you were speaking of how much time had passed in the spacecraft...hmmm what those two said..O well....I'm still cute..= )

I love Einstein, the great.Join me 2 grasp his stuff!!

In this mysterious Universe, nothing is absolute. All are relative.
If U are travelling in a car then U'll think that U are resting.
But it is not so. For an outer observer, U are moving. That's relativity. U can correlate this to spacial events.
So your question "How much time had 'actually' passed?" itself is wrong.
For ur contentment,
Time in the spacecraft = your time*root(1-sqr(velocity of the satellite)/sqr(velocity of light).
So for this case, time in the spacecraft = 0.6*5
=3s
Have U understood Einstein now!!!

On earth, five seconds would have passed. If an observer in the ship saw his clock move 5 seconds, five seconds would have passed for him. If he looked at our clock, he would have said that only 3 seconds had passed here and if we looked at his, we would say that only three seconds had passed on the ship.
