Alzheimers - a progressive form of presenile dementia that is similar to senile dementia except that it usually starts in the 40s or 50s; first symptoms are impaired memory which is followed by impaired thought and speech and finally complete helplessness

Remembering and Forgetting are the most remarkable Arts of our human mind.
As per the mind there is no difference between Forgetting and Remembering.
It is just like you are using right hand and left hand. Just as some people are right handed and some people are left handed, some people can remember more and some are forgetful.

You forget things that you don't like or want and you remember the things you feel important. So, if you want to remember you have to tell you brain that it is important some way or the other. If you want to forget, you have to let your mind know that it is not required.

Just practice both and keep balance. They are very efficient automatic functions of human mind. They have self triggers and if you don't give the right triggers you get malfunctions of forgetting and remembering.

Sometimes, we find difficult to forget when bad things happen to us. Sometimes we find difficult to remember when we require. The strain on the brain in the both situations is similar and same.

I hope you understand what makes you Remember and what helps you to Forget.

Some people have a disorder...I wish i could remember what it is called, where they lack the ability of facial recognition. It is as if every moring when tehy look in a mirror they are looking at a new person. There are vary degrees of this condition. There was a woman on the news a few months ago. When she met her husband out, he had to tell her what outfit he would be wearing so that she could recognize him.

The only way to really deal with this type of issue is to reach a point of acceptance of what has happened. You can't change the events of the past but you can choose how to react to it. If you hold resentment and pain you will always be reminded of what you feel, not the actual event/s. Once you can accept and choose to let go of what happened, you won't have an issue with the person, no matter how ,much you see them. You can choose to feel pity for them, feel sorry for their weaknesses and rise above being a victim.

Obviously you cannot forget a person whom you work with or see each day. You just put them on a different level in your mind. No longer the one you love, just the one you respect.
And try your hardest to concentrate on your work. Most of us have gone through all that emotional stuff, so you can probably do it if you really try. Lots of luck!

it would be impractical if I say to blind your self...... having an unforgettable memoire about somebody whom yuo've met is really hard to vanish.... it requires emotional temper and patience....unless you are attracted to the person....

Factor that makes it hard to forget is
...you are attracted to.
you have exchanged facial expressiveness
you metting was resulting to be disastrous
orpersonally you are the one which dont want to gerget!!

So you.... should be aquainted and dedicated always to your work to forgett that thing.... keep your self busy with anything that catches your attention... stay away from the place... have a vacation... go to circus or to the disney land "the happiest place on earth"

the more you think of looking for ways to forget that person, the harder it is...i don't think i need to explain why...

all i could assure you though is that impatience is never the key. what you need is time, it may be quite frustrating at the first 'weeks' (take note, i said weeks, not days) but sooner enough you'll forget that person. not seeing that person ever also helps. but if you want instant results, succumb yourself to amnesia.

that or you let time take over...

It's already been said, but there is a disorder in which one cannot remember someone by their face alone. Varying degrees and all that.

I have the lowest degree of this, I cannot picture anyones face ever, but when I see them I recognize them.

Depends on your age. At my age, I just forgot what my wife yelled at me about. ( conditioned reflex)

Lets see; each beer kills something like 100K brains cells. Guess I am a miracle since I should not even be able to type this.

(ok, the brain stem allows me certain functions)

Names and faces, I presume. I am terrible with new faces. I always try and avoid calling new people by their names in theearly stages of a conversation. Can be embarassing.
