Yes Fluoride is a very dangerous poison. A lethal dose is approximately 75 mg per kilogram of body mass (as NaF).
5 grams of pure sodium fluoride will kill most adult humans.

I don't know where you ever heard it was a poison. It's given to build the strength of your teeth and gums. Too much can be fatal but so can most chemicals in high doses. The worst effect if done incorrectly through a dentist is flourosis, but that is not fatal. The main side effect of flourosis is white spots on the teeth. If is a preference whether you should receive fluoride or not. I had it as a child and it was the biggest reason why at 19 I still have no cavities. When used correctly its very effective.

Fluoride is a naturally occuring component of ground water. It was noted several years ago that country folks (those with wells) had fewer dental cavities than those folks who drank municipal water. The search was on for the reason, and it was discovered that fluoride was the answer.

It is like anything, the difference between beneficial, inert and harmful is dosage.
At the levels in water fluoride is not a problem.
As too the brittle bone issue, that is with HF (hydrofluoric acid), this is a different species to the fluoride in water.

Yes! Other countries have done extensive testing on floride. Sweden I think. Anyway they used to put floride in their water just like the USA does. Now they don't. Floride causes the bones in children to become brittle and break more easily. Floride does nothing to prevent cavities, in fact it may do the opossite.
These other countries have shared this information with the USA but the FDA will not take it off the market here and the dentist/doctors here still recommend giving this stupid chemical to our babies and children.

Flouride is not necessarily a poison, however in large quantities can cause some bone deformation. That's way we're not supposed to swallow toothpaste, however, toothpaste are highly concentrated with flourine. Like anything, too much tends to be bad.

Now the anti-fluoride harpies are attaching themselves to the autism awareness movement. I don't know what their problem is, but fluoride is fine unless you overdose.

Your recommended daily intake of flouride is 0.05 mg/kg. Anything more than that can damage teeth, especially the color. Too little can damage teeth also, especially in children who are developing teeth. Tap water usually has flouride in it, so it could be one source.
