Power = energy/time

Watt=Jouls/sec

So energy = 100W (1sec) = 100 Joules

A 100 watt light bulb uses 100 watts in 1 hour
there are 60 x 60 seconds in an hour.
so divide 100 by 3600 to get the number of watts the bulb will use in 1 second.
(0.0278 watts to 4 d.p.)
