At last-- an honest person who is also a realist ! To me, the uncontrollable crazed rants of Michael Richards were far more shocking and frightening than Don Imus' benign remark.
I had to look up the word "nappy" in the dictionary to see if there was something really horrible about the word, but it means "downy; having nap"---
As for the word "ho"-- well rappers use it all the time and local high schools even used to have "pimp and ho night"
for kids, if you can believe it !!!
Now, I guess Imus is going to have to sign himself into some place to be reprogammed.
But what about old Louis Farrakan and the Nation of Islam?
Aren't they spewing racist comments all the time? Does anyone ever chide them for their rhetoric and try to modify their behavior? Does anyone ever get after the skinheads who preach hatred towards blacks and Jews??
Those 2 groups are far more dangerous than Don Imus !

I think ppl that try and "justify" their being racist, are showing signs of breaking the shell. They are beginning to have a mind of their own rather than filled with the brain washing crap that has filled their head since they were young.
this is an instance where the old saying," You gotta stand for something, or you'll fall for anything!" does NOT make sense.I'll tell you what I am "racist about...ppl that are narrow minded and stereotypical. We are all in this world together, we all deserve a certain level of respect- even you.

no, not all of us are a little bit racist. I am not in the least. People are people. You can feel, think, and say whatever you want, but so can everyone else. If you make a racial comment, you will be called a racist. Free speech goes both ways.
The big deal is that racism can be the root of the 'worse things that a person could be.' Racism breeds hate and hate breeds violence. I think that is a very big deal.

I am a man of color and I believe everyone has the right to believe whatever they want. But if you are a racist and you are in the the position of authority how can you be objective if you hate other races. So you really can't keep it to yourself because you would have to project your feelings on others and then where would we be.

well when the racists runs the country or has power, it can and is dangerous. It is anti social. Any form of hate is awful. Noone should insult anyones race whether black or whote or whatever. We are all human beings, how hard is that?
