Never tried the dishwasher, but I'm thinking the extreme heat may break down the elastic and fibers in the bra. I handwash mine and hang them to dry. Best method for keeping them new looking longer.

Any kind of heat is damaging to a bra because there's a lot of Lycra in it, heat will break down Lyrca over time and you will be left with an ill-fitting, stretched out bra in about a months time.
You put bras in laundry bags. They're a white mesh material with a zipper, specifically made for bras a nylons so they don't get twisted in the wash. And you never, ever put them in the dryer, not even on tumble dry! The dishwasher...I'm sorry sweetie but either your mom never taught you how to do laundry or you are still young...the dishwasher is just totally disgusting and the temperature of the water is way too hot. Not to mention, because there is no spinning motion, the water is just spraying the bra, not really cleaning it.
Bras are to be hand washed in a very mild cleanser, like Dove soap. Even detergents, especially Woolite (believe it or not) can be harsh and break down Lyrca. But if you do put them in the laundry, there is a setting on your machine called "Gentle Cycle", made for delicates. You use this setting with cold, cold water and for 4-6 minutes. Then take your bras out of the machine, out of the laundry bags and let them air dry.

I think you would wind up with the same sort of problem. Not to mention if they slip through the cracks on the trays and fall on the elements, you could get a fire started.
You could try running them through the washer, but keep them in a pillow case with one end tied off. I find it stops them from wrapping around the central section of the washer and stretching them out. As for drying, the best way is to just let them air dry, because the heat from the dryer warps them.

NO! I wouldn't even consider it. Is the padding removable? If so, just remove it before washing. Also you should be washing and drying on knit/delicate settings when you are doing your undergarments. A lot of women I know just hand wash bra's and hang them. But don't put it in the dishwasher, eew. Good luck hun.

Use a laundry bag designed for delicates. It's made of netting and has a zipper. Wash on delicate cycle in the washer and hang up to dry. Or wash by hand and hang up to dry. The dryer will ruin the bras.

The best thing you can do for your bras is to hand wash and line dry them. As you alredy found out, the washer & dryer are bra killers.

I'd be concerned about developing a allergic reaction to your dish washer soap for one...and secondly if a dishwasher is cleaning food from hard dishes I can't imagine it being gentle on your bra.

Are you kidding me??? Either use a lingerie bag in the regular washer on the gentle cycle or hand wash them. And NEVER put them in the dryer.

I am a man. But I would say you could. The best way to wash my ball caps is in the dishwasher.
