Apparently ...to get over someone takes a month for every year you were together, so....while you wait for your five months to finish...
find out who your real friends are and plot your revenge together, i find alchohol will stimulate plenty of ideas (especially those involving scissors and paint)

I know what that i'ts the worst feeling ever but believe me there is sumone out there waiting for u.. At first the whole dating scene might be difficult since u've been with one person for such a long time.. But in time u'll find that u didn't really love him or stopped luving him a long time ago but u stayed in the relationship coz u were comfortable with the fact that u had a boyfriend.. So now is the time to explore other territory and enjoy the single/dating life and not being attached... Happy Healing

I don't know what you look like but if you have it going on then get revenge by dating someone awesome and then forget about him because after four years together and he dumps you this way,it clearly means he didn't care enough about you to give you respect by telling you to your face,he's a low life and obviously a coward ....so get out there ,enjoy dating for a while before you start seeing someone exclusive for a while.Go out and have a good time and be happy that he is out of your life because you deserve better than that...any woman does.

That's along time to be with someone and then they do you that way. Sweet-Heart I wish I could tell you something that would make all the pain dissappear just like that , but it's not and life does have to go on. Pick up your peices and let some time go by and really think before you do anything you will regret. Think well before you act Sweet-Heart, and I wish you Love and I do hate the S.O.B. that did that to you. He will get his straight in the ***, you wait and see.and it won't be a pleasant experience either.

Silly question but without any contact, how do you know you're dumped?
Totally ignore him is the best advice I can give. Indifference is a great put down. Don't lower yourself with reprisals.
There are never guarantees with any relationship, it can and does happen all the time. How you conduct yourself now, will be your saving.

This happened with me too - except I *was* told... by phone. From Australia. How considerate! The worst thing was, it was for purely selfish and superficial reasons. Perhaps it was a good thing - now I don't have the opportunity to join the ranks of the convicts.

Hello dear, it seems your world has fallen apart i can understand that, but in reality your friends will be around to lift your spirits. Without knowing any details, did you have children, own home that sort of thing , it's hard to offer a viewpoint. But one thing you must not do is linger on it. Get your friends round and they will offer different viewpoints too, he may be back but again we do not know if you would have him back. Just be careful to avoid any rash decisions, dont burn bridges is what i am trying to say.
