It is a myth.
For the same reason the Yahoo Team does anything- because they can. There is no rhyme or reason to the way the Yahoo Team does ANYTHING!

It is a myth in that you will get serious answers to serious questions. As for correctness, a poll and/or survey is looking for opinions, there is no such thing as a correct answer.
They put us under Entertainment and Music because the questions and answers are very entertaining.

Who can tell what the originators thought. Second guessing is not exactly my strong point, as I don't practice it enough.
You have a point, it is difficult to stumble across. Which is what I did to find it. A really fun place like P&S should get better billing. On the other hand, it is close to the Jokes and Riddles.

Where else were they suppose to put it? And depending on the question asked, you could get a serious or non serious answer in almost any category. I think it's relative.

Yes it is a myth...BUT...you have to be witty and smart enough to tell which ones are serious and which ones aren't...I imagine that alone can be a challenge to some who come here...
I think because we are here to entertain others is why they catagorize it this way..but then again who really knows why Yahoo does what it does right? =)

This is actually more of an "urban legend" than a myth.
If you ask a serious question, and you STATE that you need a serious answer, more often than not you will get a good percentage of serious answers.

You can get serious answers SOMETIMES but 80 percent of the time.. we are not serious on here.
