I am a mother of 3 and in a financial rut. I have a good full time job but desperately need a part time job due to money issues in the home. If the future employer ask why I need a part time job should I be honest and tell them because I need more money? If so what is the best way to tell them?

You could just say that you worked a part time job for "spending money" or "extra money". Nothing wrong with that in an employers eyes.

I doubt that any new employer would be real surprised to hear that the reason someone is looking for a second job is because they need the money - sounds fair enough to me to tell them that.

Good luck.

The term "financial reasons" should be enough. I wouldn't talk too much about personal as it isn't a good idea. Just answer the questions and don't elaborate on details.

You should just say you want to supplement your current income. NEVER give a boss too much personal info. Will probably work against you....A "good" boss should not question you any further and if he does, maybe you don;t want to work for him

IF he asks, just tell him financial reasons.
But why would he ask? If it doesn't affect your current position or interfere with your work, it's really none of his business.

Good luck! Things will get better ;-)
