C. Is the answer.

A can't be because America tried and failed in Canada earlier in the war.

B is wrong as a signed copy of the treaty was on a boat coming to America. It took a while for communications back then.

D is not correct. The Federalists gave way to the Whigs shortly thereafter. Had they been strengthened, they wouldn't have disappeared.

So C it is. America loves their successful generals.

C .... since it was fought after the Treaty of Ghent was signed and pretty much ended the reign of the Federalists
