I assume you mean 1440 "watts", not volts.

The cost depends on the rate the electric utility charges ($ per kilowatt hour)

So, to find out the cost of 1440 watts:

If;
1,440 watts = 1.44 kilowatts (kw)
and
one school day = 8 hours

then

1.44kw x 8 hrs x $ per kw hour = cost

I believe you are missing important information.

This could be a very good question but at this point you are missing information. If I were to use 1440 volts and wanted to know the price I would also need to know how much volts cost. I would have to call the hydro company or find a cost somewhere. I live in Toronto Ontario, If I call Toronto Hydro I know it won't help because you probably don't live in Toronto so your hydro prices would not be the same.

You need to know how many AMPS are used as well and then work out the number of watts used (volts x amps).
Then you need to know the cost per watt (or kilowatt)
The overall cost will be watts x cost

Cant measure usage in volts. Volts measures the pressure at which energy flows, not how much is used.

Its like asking how much does it cost to drive 70mph

it depends on Amps

if you mean regular house power

thats like 15 AMP, about

lets say 1500 watts/ hour

1.5 KW

x 6 hours

10 KW hours, a rough estimate, costs like $1.50
