,I have well water that constantly leaves lime and rust in every machine surface in the house. I use Lime Away on some things. But the strongest I have found is called Iron-Out. I use the liquid form, not the thick liquid, but the THIN version. I literally pour it all over the stains and allow it to set for awhile, in order to work on the stains. Then I add some to the two soap dispensers and run the dishwasher. It removes EVERYTHING! It's great stuff. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I let my empty dishwasher fill with water than open it up and put a cup of Lime a Way and let it run thru a wash and rinse. I do this about every 6 weeks. You can also get a cheap version of lime a way at the dollars store and they seem to work for me. My dishwasher has never had a bad build up but i have hard water and this practice seems to keep it at bay.

I have two solutions for you that work great for cleaning lime buildup out of dishwasher, Use one cup of White Vinegar, pour it in your dishwasher and set the dishwasher for a full cycle without any dishes added, also do not put dishwasher on dry allow it to air dry if you use a heated dry this will only set in new lime stains, you can use this treatment about once a week to keep it free of lime.
Another method of cleaning your dishwasher is using Tang or some citric acid type powdered drinks, put about three quarter cup of the powder and allow it to go through a whole cycle on hot water do not add any dishes to this cycle. allow only air dry
Good Luck !

Use white vinegar. Just pour a cup or two into your empty dishwasher and run it like normal. It will get rid of the lime buildup.

-Use powdered dish detergent on a damp sponge (the same way you would use powdered comet or old dutch) to clean the build up around the door and inside the dishwasher.
-Pour a few cups of white vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and let it run a cycle on hot, hot water.
-If the vinegar smell bothers you, run the dishwasher again, this time with just a bit of dishwashing detergent (powdered for dishwashers, of course).
-If you're mechanically handy, check the food traps in the dishwasher for any debris stuck in there that might be emitting residue onto your dishes!
Good luck!

Vinegar will not work as water is constantly draining and refilling back up. Do not use it.
They sell dishwasher washing detergent. Literally... You buy a special soap that you run your dishwasher on empty with the soap in there and it cleans all the dirt etc in them and makes sure your dishwasher is 100% sterile.

Lemi-Shine is the best!! It takes lime out of anything if you give it a few minutes to sit or if you run it through the dishwasher.

Make sure your auto dishsoap has a high phosphoric acid count . It's listed on the the box.
Use lemon flavored Koolaid
(its high in citric acid -other flavors don't work)
in the first soap cup at least once a month. The citric acid will cut the grease & dissolve some soft particulates on the dishes & in the filter. You may find at first you have to run it once week to get it cleaned out better.

i use white vinigar myself with each load 1/4 cup at the beginning of the rinse cycle and not only does it clean the machine but also eliminates the spotting on dishes that the commercial jet drys don'y get in really hard water areas.

I THINK ONE OR TWO THINGS THAT I WOULD POSSIBLY
DO AND BOTH WITH THE SAME PRODUCT . PURCHASE
BOTH LIME AWAY PRODUCTS: SPRAY VERSION AND THE SQUEEZE VERSION. FIRST SPRAY THE INSIDE
OF THE DISHWASHER WITH THE CLEANER AND THEN
RUN THE WASHER. AND IF THAT DON'T WORK BY ITSELF THEN ADD SOME OF THE SQUEEZE VERSION
INTO THE SOAP DISPENSER AND ONCE AGAIN
RUN THE WASHER AGAIN..... AND ATLEAST ONCE A
MONTH RUN THE WASHER EMPTY WITH SOME
SORT OF CLEANER IN THE DISPENSER LET IT RUN
A FULL CYCLE............... GOOD LUCK AND LET ME
KNOW IF IT WORKED...........
