The world would be a better place if there was nice music always playing in the background :-)

That is a nice idea, but I don't think any two people in the world would agree what nice music is! Good thought, tho.

Wow! I finally found a little corner to tuck my answer into. The word "nice" is the key word here. What I find "nice" is classical music. It tends to make me slow down and relax.But I'm sure there are many others who would disagree. I find myself staying longer in stores that have "nice" music playing and usually purchase more than I would If I were in a hurry (as I usually am), but then I'm usually more selective as well. Someone once coined the term "music to soothe the savage beast". But which music soothes and which music irritates?

No, whats nice to some may not be nice to others, and I also think we need moments of silence and reflection.... which is hard to do with muzak in the background.

Definately, the only problem would be that people would argue over what type music played in the background.
And old people with hearing aids may find it annoying.
But I think its a good idea!!!!

No, I think that would be creepy and also probably inappropriate for some moods or settings. Everyone would feel sleepy all the time.
