Yes, she should. She should be charged for filing a false police report and also for perjury IF she had spoken to the grand jury.
She does not have the money BUT I feel there should be a summary judgement entered where she should pay them each $1 each every week for the REST OF HER LIFE as a reminder of what her lies wrought. If she misses a payment, she goes to jail for a period of 30 days each time she misses and she would still have to make the payments.
Edited: I saw that someone said oh those poor rich white boys. They have been stereotyped because of the school they attended. The parents aren't rich. To bail their children out, they had to do like all other families who aren't rich who want to bail our their family- they borrowed. They did not have the money to write a check. They took out loans to pay for school. what this respondent did was probably what the false accuser did, "oh they white, they must have money, i'll accuse them."

Okay, they've concluded that there is no evidence to support her story. They even went so far as to say that the accused parties were INNOCENT. This was a logical conclusion from the train wreck that Nifong put together.
If you go with criminal charges, that logical conclusion isn't enough. You must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she filed a false police report. You also have the same problem those Duke students had: finding 12 people who haven't heard about this mess.
Can the case be made? Yes. Should the case be made? I'm not entirely sure.
Like it or not, there will be a (stupid) segment of the population which believes the allegations were true. Some of that segment may be in the unfortunate position of deciding whether to file their own sexual assault charges against someone one day. Do we want to deter people from filing true reports, for fear that there won't be enough evidence and they may themselves be charged?
This woman deserves jailtime, yes. I'm just not sure that the greater good is served by charging her.

In this case it is referred to as perjury and it is punishable by both a fine and jail time, however, one can't jail everybody that lies. All of America would be in jail if that was the case. The best thing for these alleged perps to do is sue the District attorney's office, the stripper (who will have no money from which to compensate the boys), and the police and investigators who investigated the case. Our criminal justice system is fractured and until those that have US constitutionally guaranteed rights understand and realize this, it will NOT change. More info is on the web and any recent American Government textbook with a copy of the Constitution included.

I have always thought, if you can prove that the accuser was flat out lying, whatever punishment the accused would have faced, you should get. In other words, there were, what three of them being accused of the worst of it, facing 7-10 years in jail, 5 years for good behavior, so, give her 15 years to think about what she did.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
I think I have read that somewhere before.
As you said, their lives will never be the same, they will have to live with that "I wonder if they did do it" look from people for the rest of their lives now.

No she shouldn't get anytime because there is not concrete evidence that she was not assaulted or lied about anything. The dropping of the charges is not good enough to bring charges against her because a lot of guilty people get off from lack of evidence, look at OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson. Guilty people get off lots of times because they have money and good lawyers so the Duke students getting the charges dropped doesn't mean that they are innocent. Just that they had a better legal team then the stripper.

I think they should have to pay the legal bills of all the guys. Young women would learn not bring false charges against someone if they had to pay the bills when they are found out.

Yes but for another reason. When the next girl comes along that has actually been raped she will have a much harder time with it and may not come forward at all.

What she did is against the law. I think you will see more lawsuits come out of this.
