Personally, I loved watching his show every morning. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Simply put...yes! It is sad that MSNBC as well as other companies have done this...where is Freedom of Speech? Where is intelligence gone? It is sad that two big mouthed racist idiots have that much say over the media...hate to see what they see when they look in the mirror...let's start to sue and boycott the blacks when they utter racist remarks in they're shows and stuff...give it back to 'em in sucha way!

They helped to whip up the frenzy themselves with their nearly 24/7 coverage for 4 days.

But basically, I don't think they overreacted. Trash talk in the media has been mostly confined to certain kinds of radio programming -- mainly the shock jocks and the right wing partisan propagandists. Allowing this filth on Imus, a show which had politicians, government officials, academics, journalists and broadcasters as guests, cheapens the public discourse at another level. And to some extent, it makes it seem as though these guests agree with Imus's comments. True, Imus had said stupid, prejudiced and ignorant things before under the guise of humor, but he walked a line and crossed it with Friday's racist and sexist comments.

I don't agree with what he said, but I think that it was an over-reaction on MSNBC's part. NBC Universal/GE own Interscope records - a label with many rap "artists" on it.

These artists say things 100 times worse than what Imus said, but they aren't losing their jobs are they...

Double standard, politically correct BULLSH*T, and MONEY - that is what runs this country now. Alot of people will tell you that Imus was pulled because of the rapid loss of advertising revenue - that is more BS because NBC Universal/GE are raking in millions on rap artists saying the EXACT SAME THINGS.

Tell Jesse and Al to check it at home before they start foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs. Ethics and morals? Didn't the great REVEREND Jackson have a child out of wedlock?

Basically we live in a culture of "Zip it Whitey". Sad but true. Do as I say, not as I do.

Of course they did.If they hadn't,there'd just be more flaccid cries of "racist!" from the race-baiting duo,Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, which, they will continue to do until they've been ignored fully by the media.I remember a time when Jackson was portrayed as the crybaby who was too scared to save Martin Luther King on the morning of his assassination, and Sharpton fabricated evidence in the Tawana Brawley non-case to portray whites in an undeserved negative light.Rehire Imus.He said nothing that Chris Rock,Dave Chapelle, and two dozen tone deaf rappers haven't said a million times before. What's the difference?

MSNBC absolutely jumped on the bandwagon to lynch Don Imus. They are horrible people and that Steve Capas is a weasle who should himself be fired.

It is all a part of the "political correctness" that seems to be running our society. Interesting that Rosie O'Donnell can say whatever she wants without being kicked off of the View.

Really, the whole thing makes me sick. While we are being drawn into these dumb dramas other things of serious importance are going on.

And why does Al Sharpton's opinion mean anything at all in this?

no, not at all, i think that they did the very right thing in firing this guy, perhaps he should have been fired along time ago? that just goes to prove that there is trouble on every hand. and that we cant talk about and judge one race, unless we are going to include all races.

MSNBC did not react to the media frenzy. It reacted to advertsers withdrwing their sponsorship of the show. No ad money, no show. Capisce?

Yes it was.

I don't think what he said was smart or nice but let's face it...there is worse on most gangsta rap, heavy metal and rock Cd's THAT GET PLAYED ON AIR and they get REWARDED with millions of dollars and diamonds, awards and fame...they don't lose their jobs.

For Imus to lose his job..not really fair

I loved his show too, but saying that on the air was really stepping over the line of human sensibilities. Yes there is a freedom of speech, but that was hate speech.
