Contrary to popular belief, it is not moths which eat your clothes but their larvae, and you'll never get rid of these unless you eradicate the eggs. Use your vacuum cleaner attachment in all the corners and crevices of your cupboard and anything that's in it. If you don't want to use naphthalene mothballs (and who would?) then cedarwood is a natural deterrent to a certain extent but doesn't last indefinitely. You can buy cedarwood repeller products (balls, hearts, rings and hanger type) which are not too expensive and which last for about 2 months.

I had this problem and bought 1 cwt of mothballs but they were no good, I didn't hit more than ten or a dozen moths so I went to the pet shop and bought a small lizard

To get rid of those pesky moths you must eliminate the source that they are coming from. They usually lay eggs in flours and whole grains, beans and cereals. Check all of the foods in your cupboards and pantry to look for their nest and get rid it as soon as possible before the moths have a chance to get into something else to breed. Good luck!!!
