My dearest friend may be dying. I have started to wonder if there is a God.(Not related to this) Can it still be that we evolve through different planes of development, even without God?

I'm not an Athiest, can I chime in anyway? I believe in reincarnation, and the continual development of the soul. In reincarnation, part of it is to release your grip on "earthly" things in order to ascend. I believe this also includes our earthly ideas about God and religion, and that many Athiests are Athiests because they have released earthly ideas about it. They are ready to receive it, because they have no expectations about it. (some are Athiests because they feel abandoned by God in some way or another, and that would bring them back for another time around the wheel, because they are pain based in thier beliefs, and the pain will bring them back until they resolve it.) I'm sorry to hear that your friend is ill, and may be dying, and hope you will find the insights you are looking for today, and that the thoughts of those who contribute here will help and comfort you...

Why are christians so ignorant and judgmental? ATHEIST - someone who does no longer position self belief in a God – any God – no longer only the Christian one. yet that does no longer propose they do no longer carry good moral or non secular beliefs! they could keep on with any faith that does no longer have a god and there are quite some those!! large ones like BUDDHISM – non secular coaching from Buddha and his followers that by using destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the reason behind all suffering) guy can attain suitable enlightenment!! Boy ought to you study from them and it can make you a a strategies better functional Christian!! You underline yet another time that Christianity is quick transforming into the nasty faith!!!

Sure we can and do. Buddhism is at its core atheistic. You might do a little investigating into Buddhist practice.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. Death isnt an easy thing to deal with. I dont know if it actually does any good, but I send her my best wishes and good thoughts. Take care.

You absolutely can be spiritual without believing there is a god.

Atheism does not require a total lack of spiritual belief- just a lack of belief in a supreme being.

I can only speak for myself, and I do not believe in any sort of afterlife as well as in no god. I think we as human beings do only develop during our life span, but death is the end. I am sorry for your friend.

There is no god.
Please understand that simple but irrefutable fact.
God is nothing more than a fantasy, made up by people too frightened to face their own mortality.
Nothing more.

So, the answer is; No.

I do but I don't think it has anything to do with a devine being. We are our own gods. We are part of all that exists.
