just out of curiosity...have you taken a look at the ranking list for best answerers in languages? a couple of weeks ago someone named caicos turkey was number one and then he suddenly disappeared from the list...i mean i can understand he being overtaken and going to number 2 or 3, but at the end of the top ten list there are people with far fewer points that he had...then the guy who was second after him (brahe i think it was) was number one for a few days but now he's disappeared too and now a Martha P is number one....I'm just curious to know how they can just disappear like that out of the best answerers list...

I see Martha P as number one...the question is, doesn't it seem weird that the best answerer should vanish just like that? I'm wondering if it is because their accounts have been closed as it has happened to many, and if they haven't, how come they have been taken out of the ranking list?

Caicos is still number one on the ranking list for best answers for languages. I just checked now. Not sure why it's coming out differently for you?

Ohhh hang on I get it. I'm on the United Kingdom Yahoo Answers. I just clicked on the United States Yahoo answers at the bottom of the page and yes you are right, Martha P is at the top of the list. She is the best language answerer for the US Y/A but Caicos is first on the UK site. Overall, Caicos has the most best answers. You must have clicked on the UK site and saw Caicos as number one but now you are on the US site and you're seeing it differently.
No UK person appears on the US Y/A list. Even though Caicos answers American people's language questions, as I am doing now, (by selecting 'All English questions' to the left of the page).

Glad to help you and lol, thank you.

Yes, I have recently been seeing a couple of different names appearing as the top answerer for languages, although Caicos Turkey is back there where he belongs at the moment. I just had a look at the top 10 list as well. Not only did all the people named in it have less "best answers" than Caicos Turkey - who did not appear in the top 10 - all had less "best answers" than me - I also do not appear in the top 10!!!

Yes, I have noticed the changes too.

Whatever happened to Brahe? He was above Martha P in the U.S. language questions.

I think it is good for local participants to compete on their own corners of the world. However, the system should also allow users to see leaders by multiple regions. For instance, while Martha P is top1 in the U.S., she would only be third in the UK version (second to Caicos Turkey and اري ).

I was also wondering where was Caicos. For me he is by far the Overall Leader in Languages and I have a lot of respect for him.

Good to know he is still there.

GrahamH as far as your comment for not being in the Top 10 is because you have answered 481 questions but you only got 108 Best Answers. The nr. 10 has 249 Best Answers, so, you don´t make it yet.

How very interesting! I have seen caicos turkey as no.1, so he should still be up there. :-)
