I treated a patient last month who has been on Allipurinol for 10 years for gout & was suffering terribly so he sought help from homoeopathy - which is wonderful for treating this condition - bacause each person with gout will tell you something different. They will each describe the pain in a certain way & find certain things make it better or worse (modalities) & it's the combination of this information, coupled with information about the person generally that will lead to a homoeopathic prescription that will help very quickly but in the long term, cure the condition. I can say this because in the last 10 years, I've cured many patients with gout using homoeopathy. Please find a practitioner near you by looking up The Society of Homeopaths website http://www.homeopathy-soh.org/ My experience tells me that it can be a miracle cure - although of course conventional medicine will claim otherwise! However, as they do not have a monopoly on health, you would be wise to seek help elsewhere. Good luck - you will find great results with homoeopathy.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

My father had gout. And there is no cure for gout short of an actual miracle. I'm sorry I regret that I don't have at least a suggestion on how to reduce his pain. Reduction of the uric acid without medication is as you know; difficult.

Just a shot in the dark, but has your father's doctor prescribed either presdnisone or colchincine to treat his gout? I imagine he has...they are standard first line medications for gout just as allopurinol.

Load up on high alkaline fruits and vegetables.

Aside from cherries..... strawberries, grapefruits, and lemon

High alkaline veggies: Brocolli sprouts, cucumbers, parsley.

Keep yourself fully hydrated so that it helps in excreting the excess uric acid in your system.

One suggestion, which seems to have been favorable is to give APPLE CIDER VINEGAR a shot. Take a teaspoon a day. I've heard people say its helped with the relief. Of course each person is different so it might help and it might not.

Good luck with it. I've had it and its excruciating and wish for nobody to experience something like this.

P.S.- Your dad is better off not taking the drugs anyways. Most don't really work and if you use higher dosages, there are side effects that can really hurt other parts of your body like the kidneys and heart.

Black cherry juice can help remarkably with gout. This can only be purchased at health food stores. Have your father drink as much as possible during the day On an empty stomach . Cherries Have an exceptional ability to alkalize the system and neutralize uric acid. Fresh strawberries are also helpful.

Making fresh juice from carrots, celery , parsley and alfalfa is very good for cleansing the system. Another good juice is fresh pineapple.

Herbs that can help are alfalfa , Ginger, and juniper berries .

Check out the product sold on www.goutcure.com. It is an herbal product that, when taken prior to meals, keeps the body from holding on to the uric acid which is what goes into the joints and causes the pain.

My Mom has been using it for a couple of years now and her attacks have dropped off considerably. Frankly, it probably would be even less if she was more consistent about taking it before the meals.

Have you tried charcoal poultice?
To make charcoal poultice, mix one half cup activated powdered charcoal with a few tablespoons flaxseed that has been ground in a blender until it becomes meal. Then add enough warm water to create a paste. Put paste on affected joint and cover with cloth or plastic. The dressing should be changed every four hours or it may be left on over night. Be sure to avoid getting the charcoal poultice on clothing or bed linens because it will stain.
Also Arthritin tablets...there a natural anti inflammatory

No miracle cures, usually if the only place you can find these is on the web, rather than in your GP's surgery, this is a hint that they are a con!

There are other preventatives than allopurinol. Older drugs like probenecid and Colchicine have either of these been tried???They are both more toxic and therefore very much second line. Young doctors will have had little of no experience of them.
