Let's be political correct...
a man-eating shark eats men
a woman-eating shark eats women
but a person-eating shark wins as it eats both men and women
There is a movement I think that promote the replacement of all words that include "man" with "person' i.e. police-person
(I have to search about it)
As conclusion....when you see a shark, SWIM because probably it doesn't know the difference between man-eating and woman-eating

As a chick, I couldn't honestly care less. It's funny how this only seems to be an issue with the English language, as you never hear anything about women in countries where romance languages are spoken getting bent out of shape about this. In those languages all of the nouns used have masculine and feminine articles attached, and I don't believe French women care that the word for make-up is masculine. But we're different here, I guess, so if speaking to a woman directly the title should be changed to reflect that. Otherwise, I really wouldn't worry about it...of course that's just my opinion.
