6 eh? Wow, are you sure you have time to do anything else? Birthday parties alone should be a lot of entertainment already!
As family activities how about swimming, baking cookies or let them make their own arts and crafts.

Keep it simple. The park/playground or the public library for children's hour. The library was my lifesaver. We could check out books, movies, and see wonderful programs for children for free. I also had a jar in my living room for spare change. Weekly, I would accumulate enough to take the kids out for a kids meal. Walking together is a wonderful thing to start now in their lives. Learning to visit people for a few minutes is a great thing to do and the elderly love children!

Take them to play a round of miniature golf. The 5 older kids will love it! I've been taking my kids since they were 3 or 4, they get a great sense of accomplishment if they even just hit the ball!

wow! you have alot of respect from me! well, i say have a family memeber help u out with this first...take them to the zoo or the park...those are the only things i can think of...im not sure of your location but in the st. louis area i know we have a science centre, a magic house, and all sorts of things. try to play sports with those older chidren like going swimming.
as for the younger ones, ask ur husband to bring them out to the playground
