Jains are a minority and backward class in Madhya Pradesh the central Indian state but as far as I know they are general in central ordinance.
You can get reservation benefit if you all fight for it before next elections our politicians will be most happy to oblidge if you all are ready to give them votes.

No Jain's are not listed in Backward Class in any of the state in India.
But yeah they are minority class!

Jains are not backward ,nor they come under minority class.
Neither they are backward or miniroty when they are considered for intelligence,humbleness,compassionate they are really nice.

There is no Government order , and Jains are in all aspects forward.

I am Jatt too. I dont feel any hesitation. So I think you should not feel hesitation either. In fact I feel proud when someone asks me about my caste. I start talking a lot than. Like I start describing about the Ten Gurus. Like Guru Gobind Singh created Khalsa. etc etc.... Then that person start thinking that OMG. I just asked her which caste is she from. But she started to describe me her caste. I feel happy when someone ask me about where I am from. So I think you should not hesitate. In fact be proud of what caste you're born in. Punjabis are the BEST!!!!:) I think you take my advice and tell your friend about your caste:)

Jainism is a religion and not the cast. There may be some cast system in jainism.
