I'm a Christian and I acquire faith through knowledge found in the Holy Bible.Knowledge and wisdom together create faith.People think faith is something you believe in that you can't prove exists but Jesus says that faith is something you can prove exists and is based on facts. And I don't want to contradict anybody but you only need faith the size of a mustard seed to be accepted by God.He hears those who are in the very beginnig stages of noticing him and he answers their questions when the time is right. You can't believe in something you don't understand so understanding is the path to faith. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me,I'll answer any you might have.God bless you and peace be with you.

No matter what your faith, there is always some point at which you question it and/or question yourself about it.
Sometimes - our prayers seem unanswered because the outcome is not what we asked for. This is because it's not supposed to work out that way. If you are a person of faith, you must also know there is a bigger plan. We all have a place in that plan and our wishes may not factor into it as we'd like.

As-salaamu'alaykum

Praise be to Allaah.

There are several means of increasing faith:

The first means is learning about Allaah through His names and attributes. The more a person learns about Allaah through His names and attributes, the more he will increase in faith, without a doubt. Hence you find that the scholars who know more about the names and attributes of Allaah than others do, are stronger in faith than others in this regard.

The second means is looking at the signs of Allaah in the universe and the signs of sharee’ah (i.e., verses of the Qur’aan and miracles of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), etc.). The more a person looks at the signs of Allaah in the universe, the more he increases in faith. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty.

And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see?” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:20-21]

The verses which indicate that are many, I mean the verses which indicate that by pondering and thinking about this universe, man can increase in faith.

The third means is doing many acts of worship, for the more acts of worship a person does, the more he will increase in faith thereby, whether those acts of worship involve words or actions. So dhikr increases faith in quantity and quality, and prayer, fasting and Hajj also increase faith in quantity and quality.

Hi Aishia,no you do not have to have great faith for God to hear your prayer`s,Jesus said that if you had faith the size of a mustard seed, which is the smallest of seeds, you could tell a tree to uproot itself and plant itself in the sea.
Of course He said this not for us to actually do this but to show that even a little faith can move mountains,so to speak.
God knows exactly what we need at any given time and also He can rightly say no to our requests if He knows that they are not really good for our spirit, the real test is to keep praying and never doubt God`s love fo you and to trust that only He knows what is best for you.
Blessings to you.

Read and strive to understand the Qur'an. Remember that Allah (SWT) is speaking to you through the Qur'an. The Qur'an is a direct word from Him. Many different types of people are described in the Qur'an...try to analyze where you stand.

*Make SURE you PRAY Every Single day , 5 TIMES a DAY. In every prayer you recite Al-Fatiha [the opening]---Learn what this surah means. This is a CONTRACT you need to renew with Allah (SWT) 5 times a day. Prayer is a connection between YOU and Allah (SWT)...it is an appointment Allah (SWT) set-up with you everyday

*Know that Allah (SWT) is the Greatest. Nothing can happen without his permission. Allah (SWT) is in control over EVERY SINGLE thing. He(SWT) knows and sees all that we do and all that we think. He knows us more than anyone else.

* Do small good deeds. The best of deeds are those that are done all the time (even if it's small). Be consistent in your deeds. Erase a bad deed with a good one.

* Strive to gain knowledge on Islam. Read a lot. Don't forget to develop your Taqwah.
* Go to Halaqas and Islamic gatherings and lectures. Be Involved and teach others [such as friends, etc] what you learn. Also; make a note that being with your good Muslim friends [even if its just to 'hang out'] can make you stronger and help you develop your Islamic identity]

* Be Afraid to disobey Allah (SWT). Know that he is ALWAYS watching us. Strive to please Him. See How to earn Allah's (SWT) love

* Continuously make duas. Depend on Allah (SWT) and never stop asking from Him. Ask Him for everything; big and small. Turn to Him when you need help; turn to Him with anything. He knows How you feel---Even if you don't say it..you just need to show that you Want Him [The All-Capable] to help.

* Repent continuously . Ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness for He is the Most Forgiving and He is the Only one who can save and help you. Be constant in this act.

* Know where you're going to end up after this life. This life is short.

* Deal with people in the beautiful way of the Islamic Personality...Not because you want people to look highly of you--But because you want to be perfect in the Eyes of Allah (SWT) *.

* Don't let your devilish temptations and desires be higher than what Allah's (SWT) orders and wants for you. Worship and be guided by Allah (SWT) only--not shaytan or evil temptations.

Well, the Bible says 'fatih comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Of course, that's from a Christian context.

Here, listen to this pastor, just to see what you think, okay?

Go down the page to John 1-2. I think that might answer some questions you might have. Peace to you.

u must have faith in yrself first,so stop doing everything, since this is the process of self exploration/discovery while diverting one's attention within,be positive and enjoy the present moments, gain the state of being not doing during inner voyage,be spectator to whatever happening within yr innerself.enjoy the company of yr heart instead of yr mind.

Ignore what you know of the real world, and force yourself to believe in magic and voodoo. Reading the Koran a lot would probably help.
